California Assemblyman Dan Logue (R-Chico) introduced AB51 on 21 December 2012; the proposed legislation would cap the price of a baccalaureate degree at $10,000 at three pilot universities: CSULB; CSU Chico, and CSU Stanislaus. Students would take some college courses in high school, begin their degree in community colleges (within the CSU service areas), and complete it at the CSU, with the state picking up additional costs. http://www.scpr.org/blogs/education/2013/01/03/11830/california-lawmaker-proposes-10000-public-college-/ Students would be required to maintain full-time enrollment status, as well as at least a 2.0 GPA throughout their studies in order to take advantage of the program.
