MEEC Renewable Energy Essay Contest Entries Due by 4/7/11
The Mojave Environmental Education Consortium (MEEC) and High Desert Power Project have announced their first student essay contest of 2011; the theme is renewable energy. High Desert, CA students in grades 1 through 12 may submit an essay not to exceed 250 words answering the question: “What are the environmental benefits and advantages of using renewable energy sources in our daily lives to help us reduce the use of fossil fuels?” Kindergarten students may draw a picture with a 2-3 sentence caption on the same subject. Prizes will be awarded to first through third place, including a Visa gift card and a tour of the High Desert Power Project facility at the awards ceremony on 14 April.
