Universities Receive Grants to Study Retention of Female STEM Professors

Seven universities around the US have received National Science Foundation grants to study how to retain more female professors in the STEM disciplines.  One area of research to be undertaken by Syracuse University is how to make the environment more family-friendly, as well as to train recruitment and hiring panels in appropriate practices in order to plug "the leaking pipeline."  http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2010/12/syracuse_university_gets_34m_g.html
